Yogurt Cake

With Mazola® Vegetable Oil

  • ¾ cup + 2 tbsp sugar 
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest 
  • ½ Mazola Vegetable Oil 
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup yogurt 
  • 1½ cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt 


  1. Preheat the oven to 350F
  2. Prep an 8 inch or 9 inch pan by greasing and flouring the pan
  3. Add the sugar to a large bowl and mix in the lemon zest
  4. Mix in the oil
  5. Whisk in eggs one by one, making sure they’re well incorporated
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract
  7. Whisk in the yoghurt 
  8. Sift in your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) and then mix in until the flour is incorporated – the batter may look a little lumpy
  9. Bake for 25-35 minutes (depending on pan size) or until the cake starts to look golden on top and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out with a few moist crumbs
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes and then invert and serve dusted with icing sugar
